Parachute Poetry's manifesto:
This is an experimental movement created to promote new poets and prose practitioners in the wider community; it's aim is to get new voices delivered directly to the public.
Parachute Poetry's ethos is simple:
We intend to create chapbooks of 24 pages in C5 size and distribute them for free in the community. The aim is to not just gain an audience for the poets, but to entertain the public as well and interest them in verse and prose.
The primary initial aim is to achieve a public profile, not to make money. Each chapbook does howver invite anyone who reads it and enjoys it, to make a contribution to charity [an online donation to Shelter is suggested].
The first two chapbooks are presently in production and copies of the drafts and the final product will be available on this blog shortly, as will regular updates on the progress of this this new venture.
